Calling all analog creatives and visual storytellers! We're excited to announce the inaugural issue of 'ThatAnalog Zine', dedicated to artists and photographers who passionately embrace traditional and alternative photographic processes. The theme for this first issue is 'Home'—a concept rich with personal, cultural, and creative interpretations.
If your artistic practice includes film photography—whether 35mm, medium format, large format, pinhole, polaroid—or experimental processes such as cyanotypes and other handmade photographic techniques, we warmly invite you to submit your work!
Theme & Selection Criteria:
The theme 'Home' invites diverse and creative interpretations. Ideas could include, but are not limited to:
A physical space or location that evokes a sense of belonging or nostalgia.
An abstract or emotional state capturing comfort, identity, or personal history.
Cultural representations, traditions, or connections that define your sense of home.
A self-portrait exploring the self that you call home.
Artists are invited to submit up to five pieces of work, from which between one and five may be selected for publication. Submission is free; however, successful artists will be asked to contribute a small fee of £10 to help cover the production costs and postage of your copy of the zine featuring your work to you. Participants are able to purchase additional copies of the zine at cost price.
Additionally, selected artists will be asked to respond to brief interview questions discussing their work, artistic practice, insights into their featured pieces, or sharing a favourite quote that relates to the theme of 'Home'.
Inclusivity & Community:
This opportunity is inclusive and open to all artists and photographers who use traditional and alternative photographic processes, regardless of experience level or background. We warmly encourage submissions from both new and experienced artists, amateurs and professionals alike.
There is a unique joy and satisfaction in seeing your work in print. Participating in 'ThatAnalog Zine' offers the chance to experience the tactile beauty and enduring appeal of printed photography, something special in our increasingly digital world. Not to mention, it'll look great on your coffee table or desk!
Please feel free to share this exciting opportunity with friends, colleagues, and fellow artists who may be interested in joining our growing community.
Submit your work and become part of a growing collective, helping to keep the spirit of analog photography alive.
We can't wait to explore your interpretations of 'Home'!
